To Break Bread is to engage in a comfortable, friendly interaction. Originally, the term was literal, meaning that a loaf of bread would be broken to share and eat, a casual meal among associates. Today, the term is used to describe a social interaction where something is shared. This could be food, money, commodities, assets, or other various items.

Always attempt to eat when your body is in a parasympathetic state. This allows you to digest your food completely and absorb maximum amount of nutrients.

The brain is designed to either avoid pain or pursue satisfaction. You cannot be in two states at the same time.

So where do you spend most of your day?

When you avoid pain your body naturally falls towards sympathetic dominance.

When you pursue long term satisfaction you naturally engage adaptive physiology.

P.s. Be aware of the difference in pursuing short-term pleasures vs long-term satisfaction.

There are physiological laws of how to take care of the body. You may break those laws from time to time but if you consistently break those laws you will suffer the consequences in terms of illness, disease and disorder.

Let’s see how smart you are; what are some of these laws? Excited to see your answers.

Before every exercise / sport you should have a specific warm up to get your circulation up at the intensity you require and to activate the right muscle groups to make the movements more effective and to prevent injury.

After exercise your cool down should calm the breathing and engage the recovery breath while stretching out any tightness, tension or stiffness that has occurred from the movements.

Do you do this?

Chiropractic Explained

When there is a pinch in the nerve flow between brain cell and tissue cell.
We chiropractors call this a subluxation.

There are always two effects of a subluxation – interference and decay.
Interference and decay in some, one or more of your body systems.

That is the cause of your symptoms.
Your symptoms is the effect of one of your systems in dysfunction.

My job as the chiropractor is to find that pinch, that subluxation.
Find it, understand it, explain it to you and adjust it to clear it out.

Subluxation-free nerve flow between brain cell and tissue cell.
Your job is to be committed to your chiropractic process and the time it takes to restore your health and Happyness.
To learn in-depthly about your health and happyness.
To refer your friends and family to chiropractic to make the big picture community effect of health and happyness.

1) Choose the pace - the slower the better; 30 beats per minute is slow and you will see why.
2) Set the rhythm as 4/8
3) Tap each of the purple blocks such that the 1st beat is a different sound to the other three.
4) breathe in for one cycle of 4 beats; hold your breath for one cycle; breathe out for 2 cycles; hold your breath out for 1 cycle. This is one round.
5) try to do 12 rounds!

Let me know what pace you can breathe at.

Interesting fact of how the body works

- did you know that there is a pressure sensor in the carotid artery that determines how much pressure is required for the heart to pump blood around the body and still supply the brain with oxygen?

It is called the carotid sinus and is closely activated by engagement of the front neck muscles which is common with stress and tension that accumulates and a forward head posture. These two are surprisingly more and more common; is there anyone why high blood pressure is almost a standard feature.

There was a research that showed good improvements with certain types of high blood pressure by Chiropractic adjustment to correc the mechanisms discussed above.

What is your normal blood pressure?

Did you know that Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to rewire itself based on the stimulus it receives.

We are receiving sensory stimulation constantly everyday. The problem is we are not conscious of how we are wiring our brain through our sensory system.

So take Conscious control of your daily rituals and routines; so that your can consciously program your brain.

In order for the spine to be effective over gravity, you have to develop 4 curves. These are the curves in the spine as seen from the side. These curves are formed during the natural development of infants.

Your cervical (neck) curve develops from “tummy time” to crawling.

Your thoracic (chest) curve develops from rolling from side to side, through sitting to standing

Your lumbar (lower spine) curve develops from crawling, through standing to walking.

Your sacral (pelvic) curve develops from standing and as you develop gravity confidence. The sacrum is fully functional by mid puberty as the 5 bones fuse together to strengthen against the power that is developing in the muscular system through puberty.

Any injuries during these times, big or small, will influence the normal development of the spine curves. Therefore posture development is effected and the body takes more strain constantly.
