To Break Bread is to engage in a comfortable, friendly interaction. Originally, the term was literal, meaning that a loaf of bread would be broken to share and eat, a casual meal among associates. Today, the term is used to describe a social interaction where something is shared. This could be food, money, commodities, assets, or other various items.

When I speak with people at this time of the year, I ask a very simple question - do you know how to holiday correctly?

Most people tell me of course; however when we get back in January will you really feel like you have rested, recuperated and refocused ready for 2019?

Our recommendations is to fill your holiday with what is tangential to your normal life.
For example - I normally wake up 4am in the morning. So on holiday I break that routine and practice the art of sleep ins!
What will you do different this holiday? (Even if you only have a few days off!)

When people get stuck on their health; my first response is to go back to what we know creates health. We know certainly 6 items that create health if applied correctly. So I ask you which one are you behind on / struggling with / simply ignoring:
1) nutrition
2) hydration
3) movement and exercise
4) sleep
5) stillness and breathing
6) mental training

t is amazing how kids just want to climb this tree!

Kids see this tree in the front garden of the practice and they just want to climb it. Surprisingly I have never seen an adult in the tree except for me!

It was the first thing my son and I did when I came to see the place before buying... You have got to have a great climbing tree and test it out!

I have challenge for you - if you a child adult like me; feel free to climb the tree! I want photographic evidence. (Please be safe though!)

The adult who climbs the highest will get a complimentary yoga / movement class with me!

Have a great week.

What is the difference between a good symptom and a bad symptom?
Good symptom are usually an indication that the body is working correctly
Bad symptom are the indication that something is dysfunctional.

A fever is a perfect example of good symptom. You feel terrible but it indicates that your body is working well against the infection. With good symptoms you monitor that the body is able to clear through and your job is to support the body.

I had an interesting experience with my body on Friday and it taught me:
1) I still have loads of learning to do in how to predict my physical functioning
2) I am able to regulate my body well when the need arises.

So I went Scuba diving with my son over the weekend. On my first dive my sinuses and ears purge a whole lot of mucus into the back of my throat which made me very nausea. Subsequent from that I got complete sea sick for a few hours. So much so that I missed the second dive for the day.

For the first learning - I had had some sinus and congestion challenges the week before which I had nurses well. I felt I was better and was ready to Scuba dive. Not taking into consideration the amount of pressure and force Scuba diving has on the body, sinuses and especially the ears. It is always important to see that you are ready for the level of challenge you about to face. I was complacent and learnt my lesson.

For the second learning - there was another gentleman who had also got sea sick on the same dive as me; although I thought I was dying more that he was, I recovered quicker. I feel this was largely due to my ability to work with my parasympathetic system... The system of your body that helps you recover. I was able to recover my breathing faster than he was and therefore cleared out symptoms much faster.

Send me a message of how well you working with your body!

Many people consult with a Chiropractor for just pain relief...

This is a shame; Chiropractic has the ability to improve your functionality. That is how well your body is able to work and perform activities of daily living without strain and with ease!

One reason I believe people do not focus on this is because of their state of normality...when you no longer have pain you believe you are normal.

However performance care is about something greater...
So simple questions:
1) do you avoid any aspect of life?
2) would you want to be able to do some activity or action with your body that currently is difficult or challenging?
3) do you have any goals your aiming at?

Do not get complacent with your health...step forward towards a better quality of life!
