To Break Bread is to engage in a comfortable, friendly interaction. Originally, the term was literal, meaning that a loaf of bread would be broken to share and eat, a casual meal among associates. Today, the term is used to describe a social interaction where something is shared. This could be food, money, commodities, assets, or other various items.

This WhatsApp group gives you direct information from Dr Travis on how to navigate a health happy lifestyle!
It is a non-response group, so you will not get bombarded with other people’s opinions. It is simply information from Dr Travis and you are allowed to respond directly to him!

So an important rule we abide by is the 5 and 2 rule. So the things in life that you enjoy - the body is a sensory system so you must have things you enjoy; we suggest to choose two days per week and enjoy them freely. Normally this will form part of the weekend.
An important note for this; everything in moderation including moderation. For example I really like coca-cola...however I have put this to the test many times. The first sip of coke is always great, the second sip confirms it and the third sip starts to give you that metallic taste in your mouth. So on weekends, if I feel the need for coke I will take 2 sips...enjoy it and put it down.
Find your enjoyment; enjoy truly in moderation without guilt or stress and be strong enough to stop at that.
Have a great weekend
A big thanks to Nandos for the gift today! I do feel that nandos is a healthier “fast food” option - now I must walk a mile in their shoes.
Breakfast - smoothie
Lunch - avo and dry wors

Breakfast - smoothie
Lunch - left overs
Dinner - still to find out
I had a huge chat to a patient today about emotions; it is important to note that emotions have a neurochemical impact on each and every part of your physiology.
So if you are filled with positive emotions daily you will have positive physiological benefits...unfortunately many people sit with chronic negative emotions that snowball over 20, 30, 40 years creating havoc with your mind and also your body.
Learning how to “defrag” emotions and clear them out is one of the most effective tools I have learnt to help my own personal journey.
Pls let me know; send me a personal message -
How are your emotions?
What do you do to clear out the negative emotions?
Is it a strength or a weakness to be vulnerable about your emotions?
Have a clear heart!
Breakfast - smoothie; veg protein base
Lunch - fruit smoothie
Dinner - chicken curry on quinoa
On a conversation with a patient today...we discussed how to measure progress. Most people look at their best days to indicate progress however it is great to look at your worst days.
Progress of most sort occurs similar to the stock market. In a bull market the best days will continue to get better but you wish to see that your worst days do to!
If you do have a bad day; look at your previous bad day and you will be impressed that it is not so bad!
What experiences did you share with your family, friends of loved ones this weekend?
Just watched a video about the time we spend at work vs the time we spend with family and loved ones. As another weekend comes to a close I look back at the contrast of time in the week ahead that I will spend at work vs the time I will spend with my family! Crazy to do the comparison.
Remember that our brains and emotions do not comprehend time but rather the value or quality of time. So if like me you work much during the week...make sure you find the value and quality when you are offered the opportunity.
Have a great week ahead
We had a photo shoot with the team today. Look how good looking they are!
Have a sensational weekend
Feel beautiful inside and out!
Breakfast - smoothie; chocolate yum yum...
Lunch - capris salad
Dinner - stew
I comfortably held a handstand against the wall for 1 minute. What did you do today that was outstanding?
Went to a very informative talk last night about the two way communication channel between the brain, mind and body. So interesting how medicine is slowly understanding the whole person and not simply just the part in question!
The lecturer was a neurosurgeon and I did purchase his book; once I have finished reading it will be available in the office to read.
One snippet - “90% of all diseases and issues in the body is directed by chronic inflammation! Control the inflammation and your control your issues.”
Someone asked how to control inflammation and his answer was “get rid of the tension!”
I thought, “well that is what we Chiropractors do well.”
So stop today, breathe in and out and release the tension!
Yoga Joe has been found and is alive and well....he almost made it through the first week without being spotted. Well done to natalie Whyte and her family.
Dealing with stress on a daily basis is a huge part of most people’s lives; for some they are not only able to cope but actually adapt to the ongoing challenges and get stronger.
For others, and I feel this is the majority, they try to copy but in honesty are actually sinking!
Research has shown the most effective mental techniques to combat stress; send me an email and I will send them to you.
What do you feel are your most effective adaptive mechanism? (Please WhatsApp me directly!)
A great book to read is -
https://www.amazon.com/Why-Zebras-Dont-Ulcers-Third/dp/0805073698
Breakfast - smoothie
Lunch - snacks
Dinner - sweet potato cottage pie
Breakfast - yes it was a yum yum smoothie
Lunch - left overs (this is a simple lunch; cut your dinner in half from the night before. Eat the half and give your body 20minutes after you have finished before you decide if you hungry. Generally, you will still feel full and your second half becomes lunch the next day!)
Dinner - chicken green curry; super tasty.

The competition is NOW live - 9th April...Yoga Joe is in hiding again.
We have decided not to take a picture of him hiding for at least the 1st week because people found him too easily last time.
1) find him
2) take a picture of him with time and date
3) give a cool name to the pose
4) WhatsApp me directly
Good Luck!
Each few weeks I will place him in a new location in my office in a new yoga pose and take a picture.
I will post the picture on WhatsApp, social media and through the office. The first person to find him and give a great name for the yoga pose will receive a complimentary movement session with me. If you are the first to find him more than once I would ask that you give the complimentary movement session to a friend or family member in need. We love to share the love!
What is a movement session?
30 to 40 minutes of interaction with your body through flexibility and strength training. This is held in the office on a Monday morning between 7 & 8am or a Thursday morning between 6 & 7am. There is a variety of movement influences from yoga to martial arts and general common exercise options...however movement is the game! If you are a patient of mine then we can work specifically through your challenges. Our biggest influence is Budokon Yoga and Dave Gardner (my Guru!) both are on Google and other social media for your reference. The value of this is R590.
Does it sound like fun?

3 times each across the fire for my son and I; #SoProud #AwesomeExperience

Ps...with the left over Palp (left side of the picture) my wife made an amazing chocolate cake! Yum yum
I am excited about my smoothie tomorrow...my wife made almond milk which has made my smoothie so creamy.
At this junction it is important to make mention that as a family we minimize the amount of dairy of all sorts because it is Pro-inflammatory, it leaches calcium from the body regardless of the calcium concentration, and it is mucous and congestion forming.
So a creamy smoothie without dairy can be difficult hence why we use almond milk, coconut oil and nuts to create that creamy taste.
Fly above your challenges this week and smack it out the park
Thank you for your answers from last nights question.
Tomorrow evening I will be doing my third fire walk...
Message me:
Who has done a fire walk?
Would you wish to do it again?
Have a blessed weekend
Breakfast - smoothie
Lunch - smoothie
Dinner - soup
Soup means we are moving into winter!
I chat daily to my patients about the benefits of being healthy and happy. For many it is simply to be pain or symptom free; for others it is the ability to true feel your full potential and use that for the good / for the purpose of impacting your world!
Why do you wish to improve your health and Happyness?
