To Break Bread is to engage in a comfortable, friendly interaction. Originally, the term was literal, meaning that a loaf of bread would be broken to share and eat, a casual meal among associates. Today, the term is used to describe a social interaction where something is shared. This could be food, money, commodities, assets, or other various items.

I went to the dentist today and I have an abscess behind one of my tooth. Guess what? I have absolutely no pain from it. The reason being is it is not touching the nerve.

It reminded me of my own profession, people can have issues in the spine without knowing much about it until it touches the nerve. And if you have ever pinched a nerve you know all about it.

Fortunately I went to him for a routine check up and that is how we detected it. This is common place for teeth because teeth decay is not pleasant. Please spread the word - send your friends and family members to a Chiropractor for a routine check up before spinal decay sets in.

In the body with have sympathetic which relates to the stress mechanism and parasympathetic which relates to the rest, digest and healing mechanism.

The breath in links to sympathetic and the breath out links to parasympathetic.

Breathing in shallow and tight is very sympathetic. Breathing out short and restrictive is sympathetic.

Being able to breathe out longer than your breath in and to be able to breath in softly and smoothly is parasympathetic.

Check the quality of your breathing.
Can you at any moment breathe out without the need to breathe in?

Find some parasympathetic time in your day

If you are interested I will set up two movement sessions to review the push-up and squat Challenge.

Many have asked me if they can do it? I will be able to make it tailored to your ability. Getting mobility has got to start somewhere and should be painfree. So enjoy learning about your body.

Please call Phumzile to arrange either a Monday morning (7 to 8am) or a Thursday morning (6 to 7pm). If you cannot manage those times I will offer Tuesday evening or Wednesday evening (4:30 to 5:30pm). Cost will be R100 per person.

In making the decision to pursue healthy and wellness; your 1st point of call is to agree to the philosophical construct - there is a natural innate intelligence within the body; it controls and coordinates every function within every cell and it works to maintain harmony and balance.

This self-healing and self-regulating mechanism works extremely effectively as long as you are in an adaptive state.

To be in an adaptive state you need to provide it with what it needs constantly.

What does the innate intelligence need to maintain harmony and balance? I am interested in your thoughts... Send me your messages

I wish quizzed about the 100 push-up challenge... Why do it?
Simple answer is neurological adaptability. That means teaching my body to adapt to challenges that life may bring. I do not know my next challenge so preparing for it is impossible. However I can make sure my body can adapt to whatever is thrown at it.

In my office we discuss exercises and activations that are specific to the dysfunctions that you have. When working through the exercises it is important that:
1) you work on them consciously, feeling and focusing on the correct connection and activation
2) you work on them frequently and for short periods of time
3) you work on them straight after your adjustment
4) you are watching that the body does not compensate.
This is the only way to positively influence your movement habits!

What do you know about emotions?
- each emotion has a unique neurochemical composition that affects each cell in the body differently
- cells, tissues and organs have their own electromagnetic resonance and therefore are more attractive to certain emotional codes.
- emotions are like all functions of the body, they must go through a cascade or process and eventually must be eliminated.
- emotions that are stored in the body will accumulate in the part of the body that had the greatest affinity for it. If it is a great emotion it will have positive benefits to the function of that part of the body. If not then dis-ease occurs.
- a significant part of chronic issues has an emotional component! Most people I have met do not know how to effectively deal with the emotions they experience.

Epidemiological studies show that more and more people are on more and more chronic medications.

I am not question whether this is necessary or not however what I have seen is the side effects and drug interactions lead to serious symptoms creating disability and reduced quality of life.

Chronic muscular-skeletal pain is a common side effect of many drugs including cholesterol medications.

www.Drugs.com is a great website for you to check your medication, what it is for, what are the side effects and whether there are drug interactions or not. Please inform yourself and make decisions on your health with your doctor!

Do you eat to feel full or do you eat to sustain your energy throughout the day?

The 1st one is for psychological reasons; the latter is for physiological reasons.

Wonderful conversation; I am not of the opinion that excessive, incorrect, poorly performed exercise is good for people. I look forward to your thoughts?

I started with nasal congestion this afternoon; if anyone stuggles with sinuses and nasal congestion this works well:
- no dairy
- no sugar
- huge amount of water
- head over basin of hot water with towel (steaming). I use olbas oil to help clear the passages
- saline spray up the nose straight after
- complete this 5 times per day
